Students will participate in a panel session, walking tour and two hands-on workshops while connecting and engaging with our friendly student leader team and faculty staff.

Waves of DestructionExplore the importance of coastal protection by using a mobile wave tank to simulate interacting with coral reefs and beaches. SunSmart CodeIn this workshop, you will become a Biomedical Engineer by developing a UV detection device to alert the user of high exposure to UV. Important Information: 
•    It is preferred that teachers sign up their students’ participation for the day as part of a school group. The school representative can register on behalf of all students attending however the WE team will still require individual names of attendees and which workshops they are attending.
•    Please note each workshop has a max capacity, and registrations for individual workshops in each session will close once this number is reached. 
•    Registration closes 28 March 2024 at 5:00 pm AEST, end of Term 1. Please register here before the closing date.

About Explore Engineering Day

The UQ Women in Engineering (WE) team are delighted to host our flagship annual event of the year, WE Explore Engineering Day.

WE Explore Engineering Day showcases the diverse engineering opportunities at UQ through hands-on workshops, interactive presentations, and tours of the engineering precinct including the state-of-the-art makerspace facility, UQ Innovate and the new Andrew N. Liveris Building, home of Chemical Engineering.

The UQ WE program is proudly supported by our industry program partners, Anglo American, The Australian Power Institute, EM Solutions, Ergon Energy + Energex, Hatch, Origin Energy, Queensland Rail, Rio Tinto, and Sandvik.

This is a free event, but for catering purposes we ask you to register and provide dietary requirements.
