The EAIT Leaders Program is a diverse community of highly-engaged undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students aiming to develop their leadership skills, contribute to the University and improve the student experience for others.
Academy members do this through:
- Volunteering opportunities – events and activities such as Get Set mentoring, and becoming EAIT Ambassadors who participate in activities working with employability, outreach, recruitment and orientation.
- Representation – committee participation, student voice and providing feedback.
- Personal and Professional Development – training, workshops, modules, social events and professional roles
- Paid Opportunities (for those who have demonstrated commitment and ability)
- Recognition of service and skill – EAIT Leadership Award, an award ceremony will be held in week 8 of each semester.
EAIT Leadership Award
Involvement in activities can count towards the EAIT Leadership Award.
To attain the EAIT Leadership Award, students will:
- Complete at least 50 hours of EAIT Leadership activities and record these through the Employability Award or own record. This should primarily be centred around support with faculty events like Orientation, Week 1 activities, EAIT Employability activities, etc. Students can opt to include activities outside of the faculty and within the community to make up additional hours, as long as the activities relate and portray how students are developing their leadership skills.
- Complete the 'Innovation and Change management' leadership module.
- Apply to attend the EAIT Leadership Award event in Week 8.
- Present a 3 min talk about their experiences at the EAIT Leadership Award event (Week 9).
The EAIT Leadership Award is a 'Career enhancement' supplementary activity for the Employability Award.
