Changes to Engineering Professional Practice from 2025

Introducing EPP Hub

From Semester 1, 2025 there will be a change to how you register and claim your EPP and we will launch a new system called your EPP Hub utilising the UQ StudentHub platform. You will still need to complete your EPP hours and complete the associated reflection assessment, however the system and the process to claim your hours will be slightly different.

How will the transition to EPP Hub affect you?

The transition to your EPP Hub will not affect your ability to fulfill your EPP requirement, even if you have started making claims in the current EPP System.  

Any EPP hours claims that have been approved in the current system by Friday 29 November 2024 will carry over and will be transferred into your EPP Hub on your behalf. Any EPP activities that were completed prior to this date, but not yet claimed or approved, can be claimed in your EPP Hub when it goes live in Semester 1, 2025. If you commenced your studies at UQ from 2024 or earlier, you will be able to complete your EPP in your EPP Hub with the current rules. 

If you are graduating in Semester 2, 2024, this change will not impact you. Continue to claim your EPP in the current system and submit your reflections as per the current process outlined on the EPP website.

What can you do now? 

If you have done everything you need to do to fulfill your EPP requirement but have not yet claimed these activities, we suggest you submit any claims through the current EPP System and submit your reflections by the current semester deadline of 20 September 2024 – even if you are not graduating this semester. This will ensure your EPP is complete, and you won’t need to think about it again.
