Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Bioprocess) / Master of Engineering
What’s been your favourite course so far and why?
BIOE3001 – Quantitative Methods in Biomedical Engineering. It opened up a whole new world of uses for coding that I had not even imagined. It was a fun and creative course too and creating my own physiological response model to heart medication was so interesting but also very challenging.
Have you participated in any internships/work? If so tell us a bit about it, what did you enjoy most about the experience?
I was lucky enough to be a summer research scholar in 2021/2022 where I conducted research on a polymer that would hopefully improve cell growth in a laboratory environment for tissue engineering applications. It was really amazing to experience what it is like working in research and the process of developing research papers!
Currently, I am an intern at an engineering consultancy firm in the energy industry. We primarily work within the risk and process safety sectors but also do lots of detailed design and project management. It is an amazing opportunity for me to learn about all the different stages of process design!
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
Design and project management! Either in the wastewater, natural resource or recycling industries.
