Why did you choose to study at UQ?

The oppurtunities available for research, international experiences, world-class facilities and teachers combined with the geographic location lead me to nominate UQ as my first preference.

Who or what made you choose to study this?

During high school, I was interested in math and science so I decided to enroll in engineering at university. During my first year, I was undecided as to which branch I wanted to pursue. However, ENGG1500 motivated me to choose chemical engineering. I am passionate about the environment so the ability to participate in the primary resources, waste treatment, and energy sectors and be a part of the green transition really appealed to me.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

The university experience is different for everyone - everyone will face different challenges. You shouldn’t compare yourself to what others are doing. There is no shame in changing degrees, or being at university for longer.
