EAIT Teaching and Learning Forum 2021

The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology held its 2021 Teaching and Learning Forum over three days in June. The sessions covered a range of topics, from post-COVID teaching practice, to design and critical thinking, to developing a teaching philosophy.

First Year Engineering Foundation Courses and UQ Innovate

In Semester 1, 2020 all students were directed to complete their studies externally from off-campus. This semester, ENGG1100 was coordinated by Dr Stephen Hall, and involved three separate multi-discipline projects running in parallel.
A Virtual Studio

Dr Fred Teixeira and his teaching group combined face to face and online design studio within the first year of architectural design course called Vertical Matter.
DIY Durability Lab

With the rapid pivot to fully online learning in semester 1, 2020, the Design of Timber Structures teaching team, had to manage the uncertainties related to returning to on-campus labs in semester 2.
